Formulae Pancakes +(xy) = Brunch Time!!!
by girlinafoodfrenzy
Weekends sometimes call for a special brunch. Mid week mornings are usually fuelled by a banana and a protein shake (usually on the go because I’m a slow starter in the morning!)
So I say when the sun is shining and you have some time and the inclination to potter about in the kitchen, best get to it..
I’m including my pancake formula here on the homepage just to mix things up a bit (no pun intended)
%^*Formulae Pancakes*^% x 2
1 cup of flour (half cup per person)
2 eggs (1 per person)
2 tbsp of butter (1 per person)
+1/2 cup of milk + 1/4 cup of sugar + 1 tbsp baking powder + pinch of salt =
Brunch Time!!!
(y) Mix into a smooth batter + (x) pan fry with some extra butter till golden and crisp + (xy) = Maple syrup and crispy prosciutto to serve…

I love the touch of prosciutto on top — very nice!
Thanks Danny! Salty & Sweet, my go-to combo!
Such beautiful photos, and such a yummy meal!
Thank you! I love playing around with the basics and yes (my food photography is becoming somewhat addictive)
Beautiful photo! My mind is now dominated by the thought of a large stack of your pancakes dripping with maple syrup and washed down with a big pot of tea. Mmmm
Heh heh, pancakes are the best! Can’t go past the real Canadian syrup too, yum! Quite a few folks will be waking up and reaching for a short stack I think, they can blame me
These pancakes are the best of both – awesome
Cheers

Thanks Uru
nothing like a stack of fluffy pancakes to wake you up in the morning!
Yes, LOVE the prosciutto. Random question, but have you noticed the combination of sweet and salty being trendy right now? I keep going to restaurants and seeing sweet and salty accents (like candied bacon)!
I know! It’s one of my ambitions to make Bacon & egg icecresm ‘Heston’ style ond day! The prosciutto works so well in place of bacon, more crunch with the syrup, mmm..,
Your recipe/formula is a great idea! There are so many recipes that can be made that way – salad dressing, marinade, waffles, Quiche – once you know the ratios, you can make anything
Thanks Jennifer, maybe we should send our baking equations to Stephen Hawking and see what he comes up with! He could look at all those cosmic black holes and galaxies like a fruit n nut mix!!!
Love it
Oh My Gosh…that photo is worth a million hunger pangs!
Thank you! I’m guessing it’s just on breakfast time for alot of folks, the pancakes are proving popular for today
Brunch any time is a good time and pancakes are one of my favorite dishes! They take care of my sweet tooth and also give me some protein and energy fuel. Lots of maple syryup complete the cycle, and lots of coffee!!!
I know! I’m definitely the sort who could easily have breakfast all day round. Plus maple syrup is my new secret weapon, I love it for baking right now
*Secret* I don’t actually drink coffee (it’s incredibly rare if ever I do)
oh wow I love these pancakes!! Yes!!! pancakes + meat.. Can’t get any better than that right? I’m actually doing a post on pancakes + pulled-pork soon! hahaa.. yummy…. hungry now
I just got back from Europe and I missed being able to make pancakes for breakfast!
I know, but just think of all the great food you had in Europe I’m sure
Ps Pulled Pork & pancakes, yes please!!!
Maple and prosciutto… I’m sold
I know! I love a stack of fluffy pancakes and crispy, crispy ham!!!
Lol I LOVE it!! A pancake formula! The best kind of math, for sure.
If only all math were this tasty too. Thank you again for taking the time to stop by and comment!
