The Lady likes her tea…
by girlinafoodfrenzy
It’s the kind of cake that’s infused with some rather grown up flavours. For me it’s something I’ve read of, seen around the foodie circuit and I’ve always thought ‘Wow!’ As a special treat for some pals at work, I’ve decided that we need cake! You know those kind of crazy weeks (the kind that only get more manic,) somehow you bring out a sweet treat, folks take the time to stop, enjoy and everything seems just a little better…

It’s zesty, it’s buttery and better yet a simple cake made up of those pantry staples that when combined together sing out to your tastebuds. What more can I add aside from, I’m a lady who likes her tea; so a Earl Grey Tea cake it is…

As a special treat for some pals at work (including myself who grew up with Dutch bread for lunch and still don’t like it), I made a couscoussalad today and it was lovely!
Sounds like a good day for sharing food with friends
I’ve come to the conclusion that there really is no end to your talents. This looks divine!
Hi Lorna, thank you very much! I’m sure there’s more than a few home bakers who have a lovely tea cake in their repertoire. For me, it was just about mixing things up. What’s not to love re tea in cake
I’m right with you, Alice, tea and cake or tea in cake, is a match made in heaven!
Treat filled with beautiful flavour my friend, I love every one of your recipes
Cheers

Thanks Uru. I loved seeing how it all came together once I combined those wacky ingredients. I tried to get as much tea flavour in there as I could (hence) the use of both brewed tea and the leaves
I have been meaning to try this for the longest time. Do you think it’s about time I did?
Absolutely, go for it! I thought the same when I saw the amazing creations going round the web too. Nothing wrong with a little experimentation
You always supply your friends with sweet things! And to have a bakery right at work is awesome!!
I know, each and every other shift when I arrive, someone always asks if I’ve got a cake, lol!
I am having some lady grey tea right now and this looks seriously amazing, my friend!
Thank you, I imagine tea cake would never go a miss with a cuppa
I’ve been quite busy at work lately, but always wind down with my cup of tea before zzz…
Always a good idea!
I leave for vacation, and when I come back everything is different. Geez. I like the new layout!
Thanks Thoughtsy! I figured things have needed a little shake up round here
you must be super busy, holidays and (aren’t) you moving house soon?
Yep. I’m all moved. Hopefully things will calm down now. Probably not.
If your last blog post is anything to go by, I’d say things have only gotten more crazy (& cheeky!)
That looks divine!
Thank you Carla, it’s a new favourite now!
