Oh crumb!
by girlinafoodfrenzy
There’s something to be said about tried & true favourites. It might be a soup dish, which comforts & never fails to satisfy. It may even be a cake of which (the recipe) is handed down through the generations and you’re the current custodian of.
For some it might be a tradition of the Sunday Roast, chicken perhaps, or the old stand by being your favourite tv show and your favourite flavour of ice-cream too?
For me, my favourite welcome the weekend! meal has to be Lamb and we pretty much try it in most guises here in the giaff household.
Today, I’m simply cooking our meat & 3 veg. It’s okay to crave, simple, yet comforting food and (I’m trying not to) out perform every single dish I make every other night, ha ha…
So, to snazzy up this lamb, I’m going to crumb it with some every day pantry ingredients. There’s no fancy veggies today, just a simple mix of onions, carrots and celery.
Tonight I’m enjoying these Lamb Racks with a almond & herb crust

Beautiful presentation…it looks amazing!!!
Hi, thanks for stopping by. I was very pleased with the results, I was joking with a friend recently that Lambchops are a carnivores lollipop but I have to agree it’s true. Hope you enjoy the blog!
Lovely food pictures my friend, absolutely comforting for sure
Cheers

Hi CCUru. I’m sorry to be posting some meaty photos as I’m sure it’s not something you’d eat anytime soon. But I promise to have some veggie friendly treats very soon. Loved the look of your blog by the way, you’ve been a very busy cookie
Wow. Now I really feel bad for my family–I never cook like that!
Hi Robin, I’ve no doubt that they’ve enjoyed many treats from your kitchen! Truly
it’s nice to revisit some old favourites every now and then though. Glad you liked the look of these!
I hope you enjoyed it, your photos are fantastic!
Hi Lorna, thank you! (I think it’s incredible, that you’d even take time to comment on those dishes which I know you don’t eat!) Thank you for taking the time to stop by, I can promise that the next one I have lined up will be Lorna & veggie friendly!
Very kind of you Alice, but your photos are so great that your posts are always Lorna friendly! Whatever you cook, it always looks amazing and your enthusiasm adds sparkle to the mix.
Well thank you again! I’ve had such a busy month of late and I think the blog and happy snaps might have suffered a bit but hopefully no one feels neglected yet! Have a great Saturday and enjoy your weekend
That looks so juicy and comforting, I love it! You are very lucky with your delicious lamb over on that side of the world
Thank you, it’s something I’ve recognised too due to the land and country which surrounds local areas. Truly very lucky. It was hard to make those chops appealing in the pic, now I know why Lamb Cutlets don’t feature too often in magazines. Just plain awkward!
Aw no, I think you did a great job! But I know what you mean – so challenging photographing certain types of food (this week I was struggling with tea-mango jelly haha).
The lamb looks juicy. Ah…I just can smell the fragrant mirepoix and herbs cooking. What a lovely roast for Sunday. Beautiful pictures! The freshness of the ingredients really shine through.
Thank you Sriprae,
These are a definite favourite of my guy and sometimes he’s wary when he sees my recipes after (eating the meal) cause its a little different to how he’d do it! Lol. I thought the crust was one of the best that I’d made thus far, glad you liked the pic (cause it wasn’t exactly) my favourite at first…
Looks absolutely delicious Alice! Can’t write much more am about to take off!
Ha ha! Thank you Carla & Bon voyage!
Lamb is something that I rarely have. I like it but it’s not sold in grocery stores and it’s very rare to find on a restaurant menu.
Hi Russell, it sounds like a special ‘treat’ you’d like to have more often! I’m pretty fortunate in Australia here, we’re spoilt for choice but it’s also something folks to enjoy in the cooler end of winter & spring climate. Good lunch on the lamb hunt. Thanks for stopping by too
Looks delicious–and you know I love my lamb!
I’ve discovered lamb is difficult to make it look palatable so I’m pleased I haven’t scared off to many people by looking at these pics. The mainstay for me is usually an 8hr slow braised leg or shoulder, it was nice way to change it up
I’m always a fan of the braise, especially with lamb! But it *is* nice to mix it up!
