Summer time Bbq's and a spicy sauce to kick start those hot evenings
I’ve fallen in love…
It’s ok folks, my sweetheart knows about it cause, he’s fallen in love too. Our new BBQ is our secret love child and hickory chips are my new addiction.
Want to know my other secret addiction? That would be what I’m calling my Green Hornet Sauce! It’s bright, it’s green and it bites.
Well not literally, but it’s perfect for BBQ & chilli fiend’s like us. It’s like a cross between chimichurri sauce & your favourite jalapeno hot sauce, (all dependant on which type you use of course!)
I’ve also found a way to incorporate that ultimate hickory flavour (yes we also received a fabulous smoker box from my in-laws) but I’ve got a quick 20sec trick which does the job when cooking a whole chicken etc on the Hob too.
It’s the ultimate BBQ on a summer’s night & for my friends in the Northern parts, it gives you something to look forward to soon (no matter how cold those noses may be
)

Wow cooking it must be a torture, the smell would be so inviting
Likewise! I feel the same way when I look at your beautiful images & recipes too. Still dreaming about the egg salad sandwich, simplicity & beauty and the best snack!!!!
I love your wee videos! I could almost smell that end shot with the steam rising up….mmmm, it made me feel warm, thank you!
Thank you Lorna! I often feel a little guilty at the BBQ part for my veggie counterparts. I did smoke some beautiful rainbow trout eith my sweetie yesterday, but errr, there was a bit (ALot!) of smoke and panic at first… Tasted brilliant though
Been out blackberry picking today so will hopefully get a chance to do something creative with the 1.45kg of blackberries sitting on the counter soon!
I’ve never quite understood BBQs, it’s not something we do very well here but I would love to go to a proper Aussie barbie (with a few grilled veggies maybe?). I can’t wait to see what happens to those blackberries!
Green Hornet Sauce eh! It looks delicious! and spicy, just, how I like it! I do need to buy a smoker box. I have heard great things and have read much about them but have not tried one! The sauce looks effortless to make and your video shows how easy it can be!

BBQ is pretty much my favorite food (Not counting dessert). My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Mmmm….
Thank you for your comment on my breakup post, too. =)
Excellent, ever tried bbq-ing a pop tart! Yes, you can blame the calories on your ex too
OMG, I love this!!! I have to try your Green Hornet Sauce. . . a cross between chimichurri sauce & my favorite jalapeno hot sauce?? Damn, I’m sold!!! Love it! (and LOVE the video)
Chimichurri – spicy jalapeƱo sauce blend. Now, that’s what I am talking about!!! Baby Lady is going to love this! This is a definite MUST try.
