The Indigenous population of Australia refer to this nut with four individual names. Back in the day, they were traded between tribes & offered as ceremonial gifts,

The thing I love most about this recipe, is that these wafers require only four ingredients.
This makes them the simplest & easiest snack to rustle up in a flash.
Fact! My other half told me these were so good, I didn’t even need to whip up a dip as he’d happily eat them on his own.
For my no.1 foodie guinea pig to say that is a big, bold claim!
It’s not always, that he immediately says yes to the recipes I want to post.
I know so many purists out there would agree, that there’s something quite wholesome about eliminating the need for other ingredients.
Although, I don’t follow a Paleo diet I can certainly see the merit in producing goof food with minimal fuss, key ingredients, free of additives and let’s face it, tasty, tasty, stuff!
Whether you decide to whip these up with other seeds & nuts?
Make them for diet conscientious foodie friends?
Or simply because you need something tasty in a hurry and (happened) to have a whole bag of nuts or seeds.
You will be very glad that you did!
Ingredients: makes approx 40 wafers
300g Australian Macadamia’s,
Egg x 1, lightly whisked
2 tbsp water
1/2 to 1tsp salt, to taste
You’ll also need some baking trays, baking paper & rolling pin. Along with a food processor if you’re crushing your the nuts.
Preheat oven to 180C/356F
Pulse macadamia nuts in a food processor, until fine.
Add 1/2 to 1 tsp of salt, (or to taste.)
Lightly whisk 1 egg & combine with nut meal.
Add up to 2tsbp of water and stir until it forms a soft ball.
Roll between two sheets of baking paper.
Flatten with a rolling pin, using sweeping motions
Lay sheets on a baking tray, using a fork to add the decorative perforation.
Bake at 180C/356F for 10-12 mins, or until golden.
Cool before serving.
