Welcome! Here we will follow my day to day antics from my kitchen at home and my upcoming journey at culinary school! From previous passions such as costumes, theatre and design to more recent ones passionfruit, cookies and dulche de leche I hope you enjoy the ride…(contd below.)
…and that was it…
That was the ‘birth’ of my dear blog, not more than two years ago. If you’re reading this, I thank you. I thank you for taking the time to revisit my blog and see what my first words were in this blogsphere and for also taking the time to see where all my (very small,) yet very ambitious ideas eventually grew too.
Early on I figured I knew it all. I was going to re launch my career as a chef, retrain from my previous ocupation as a theatre designer and eventually look at combining the two…somehow…
This blog began as a way to document the recipes and perhaps, take just a few food snaps. (I began this blog in my first year of culinary studies and I re-write this post now, as a chef in my final year.)
In addition, I joined part of a small community of food photography addicts on Instagram and I spent a lot of time day dreaming about the foods I ate. What I would cook next, with the possible exception of thinking about what I ate yesterday…I didn’t call it girl in a food frenzy for nothing.
Overtime, that small community I was a part of, really flourished and still does today. With it came great opportunities which eventually led to more from there. From a very tiny yet, relevant feature in Jamie Magazine Food Photo comp. To a feature on Instagram itself. I was so happy….
Deciding that I could really pursue this love of food, design and cooking really became my focus after these events. Seeking out new ways to define my love for creating recipes and putting my visual stamp on it…well obsessed came to mind. Eventually, Hollywood came knocking. The rest they say is history…Well, not exactly, but I did happen to connect with the amazing folk at Tastemade (Santa Monica, CA) and in turn, became a YouTube partner on their network.
So much of what I’ve learnt over these years, has been by observation, or sheer persistance. It could also be by luck and belief. No matter how small your beginnings, no matter how far away you are from your goal? It’s so entirely possible to make a go of it…and perhaps eat a lot of delicious food in the middle…
Happy Cooking and thanks for reading!
